The last week I have been pretty sick. It all started when DH got sick. At the time we put it down to his medication playing up, but looking back he must have had the flu and passed it on to me. Instead of enjoying the long Easter weekend we’ve both been laying or in bed or on the couch watching whatever was moving on TV.
We didn’t eat chocolate eggs at all and I had really been looking forward to having a cheat day where I could eat chocolate. But it wasn’t meant to be; I could not even keep my food down. The positive news is that between all the vomiting and diarrhea I lost weight - about a kilo. The bad news is that I still have way to many other kilo’s to lose.
I absolutely hate being sick. It makes me feel grumpy that I am not able to do the things I want to do. Not only does feeling sick making me grumpy, but it also makes me incredible depressed. Oh well, at least I am starting to feel a little bit better now.

Today DH and I had to go to the city to sign paperwork at our lawyers office. Eight months after our car accident we’re finally putting in a claim to recover medical costs and loss of income. It all adds extra stress to an already stressful life. The lawyer said that the other party wants me to see their doctors as well. I just hope they hurry up a bit with everything. Living off your savings isn’t much fun.
Going to the city reminded me again of how much I hate the city life; all the rush, the noise, the horrible traffic, etc. When we were about to go into the building where the lawyers office is, a lady literally shoved DH out of the way while she said “Move”. It was so rude! DH said to her “Why don’t you use some manners?” She replied by giving us the middle-finger and walking away as fast as she could on her high heels. DH was pretty angry about it, but I couldn’t help laughing. How pathetic is that woman?
After about an hour and a half being in the lawyers office we finally could go home. My neck was killing me and I couldn’t wait to go home to lay down in bed for a while.

Today DH and I went to an acupuncturist for treatment on our neck and back. I had been thinking about trying it for a while, because DH has had acupuncture before and he said it had really helped him. When the lawyer told us we could claim the treatment I didn’t hesitate to make an appointment.
I was the one to go in first. First we had a bit of a talk about the symptoms, where the pain is, etc. After that I had to lay down and he started to put the needles into my skin. I was surprised how gentle everything was; you hardly feel a thing. I could only feel two needles in total and it was very easy to put up with.
When DH went in I had a good look at what the acupuncturist was doing and asked him all sorts of questions. I think it’s pretty interesting that you can change someones well being with a couple of well-placed needles.
I’ve made another appointment for next week. I hope it will bring me some relief from the pain.
