Beautification

We live a very materialistic society. It’s all about the bling bling, having a beautiful house, the most fashionable clothes, the biggest car, looking beautiful and the list goes on and on. We want to have what we see in the magazines and on TV and most of all; we want to look like the models in the magazine ads and television commercials. But guess what? Even the models don’t look like that! The models in the ads are photo-shopped to perfection and ready to attack our insecurities.

One of my old friends likes to follow every trend and has tried all sorts of different diet pills, diets, shakes and even had some liposuction. She jumps on every new weight loss band wagon. Personally I prefer to eat sense-able and exercise to get rid of my extra pounds, but I know that for a lot of people that simple solution takes too long and they prefer some extra help.

It’s scary to think what some women (and man) will do to reach their ideal (sometimes unrealistic) weight. And the weight loss industry loves playing in on that. How many different diet books come out on the market? How many new diet pills and shakes are put on the shelve each year? It’s a million (if not billion) dollar industry. With so many options it is easy to get confused about what the best solutions are. That’s why you should do some research about what the best meal plans, diet pills and training programs are.

For a meal plan you can see a qualified dietitian who can make a meal plan designed for your needs, while you could see a personal trainer for a trainings program to speed up the weight loss process. If that is not enough and you want to take diet pills to assist you in your weight loss journey, you might want to check out researchdietpills.com. At researchdietpills.com they have a comprehensive list of the best diet pills with customer reviews, expert reviews, and results of clinical studies.

Should overweight people pay extra?

*Please note that this post is not written with the intention to offend anyone.*

The other day I was watching Airline USA on TV. I always like watching that program because it gives you a bit of an inside on how an airport works and what kind of problems arise. In one incident their was an overweight man who got forced to buy an extra ticket because of his size. I don’t know how much he weighted, but it was enough to NOT fit into one airplane seat; he needed at least two seats to be comfortable. I felt a bit sorry for him - almost started to think it was discrimination - but I could also understand the reasoning of the airline. If he needed two seats it would mean someone else was missing out on that seat and therefor they could not sell that seat to someone else. He would however get a refund if they had some seats empty on his flight.

Yesterday I was sitting on the train and a situation occurred that made me think about that TV show again. It was in the middle of rush hour - all the city workers were going home after a ‘hard’ day of work. I sat down at a spot that could fit 4 normal sized people, but before my hubby could sit next to me an overweight woman sat in ‘one’ of the four seats. She was so big that her bum occupied two seats. The seat opposite of her was still empty, but my husband could not sit there unless he could fold his legs into his neck. I was a bit disappointed that he could not sit next to me and that he was forced to stand up for the whole trip.

Like I said before, it made me think about that TV show again and how that overweight guy had to pay extra because of his size. I started to wonder if it was fair that because one person is overweight two other people are missing out on a seat (it was rush hour so lots of people had to stand up in the train for a 45 minute trip). I can understand that people who are so overweight (we’re talking about people who are at least over 100lbs overweight) find it difficult to stand for so long so you can’t expect them to give up their 2/3 seats for other people. But should other people suffer because of them? Should overweight people have to pay extra for the extra seats they are occupying? What do you think?

Getting drunk: acceptable yes or no?

Last week I asked the question: Smoking weed: Acceptable yes or no? I got some very interesting comments on that post. Obviously everyone has their own opinion about whether it is acceptable or not and I respect that.  Hparis posted the following comment:

I think smoking pot for pain control is acceptable. Regardless, I think people should concern themselves more with why people drink alcohol. Seems there’s a lot out there just looking to get trashed, yet it’s perfectly legal and acceptable. Yet pot smokers are demonized, go figure.

I thought that it was a real good point. Why should we demonize pot smokers, while the effects of alcohol are just as damaging, if not more? I see lots of people around me who get absolutely wasted each weekend. So wasted that they are not only a danger to themselves but also other people. There are people who get aggressive when they drink alcohol, they can’t think and act rational and some even drink and drive with horrible consequences.

It kind of makes you wonder if it is justified to ban weed, but still allow alcohol. So my next question to you is: Getting drunk: acceptable yes or no?

Smoking weed: Acceptable yes or no?

WeedFirst I would like to say that I don’t do drugs; in fact I hate them. But… there are always situations in which you get a different point of view.

A friend of mine smokes pot on a very regular basis. Normally I would not hang out with people who do drugs, but in my eyes weed is relatively harmless. My friend does not smoke weed to get high, but mainly to control his pain. I won’t get into details, but he’s in a lot of pain and there’s not really a treatment for what he has. So in his case I don’t really have a problem with him smoking weed.

I have a total different view on hard drugs and it’s not what I want to talk about now. My question to you is do you think that smoking weed is acceptable?
