Movies, movies, movies

300 The MovieLately it’s been raining so hard that a new swimming pool has developed in our backyard. Unfortunately it isn’t deep enough to actually swim in (or should I say fortunately?). Since it’s been pouring down DH and I decided to have a movie day.  A day where we cuddle up on the couch and watch one movie after another.

The first movie was Reign over me. When we were about half way through the movie I heard a knock on the door. It’s so freaking typical that everytime I try to watch a movie that someone shows up. It’s as if we have a big neon light flashing above our house that says “Hassle us now”. Turned out that it was Jason, my know-it-all, know-it-better, brother in-law. It didn’t take long before he annoyed the crap out of me, he spoiled the whole freaking movie by telling us how it would end. We got so pissed off that we didn’t watch the end of it. Needless to say that I was so happy when Jason finally left.

The next movie was 300. At first I didn’t want to watch the movie because from the previews I had gotten the idea that it would be full of gory fight scenes, but after seeing Human Weapon on TV where they talked about what fighting style they used in the real historic event I wanted to see it. I thought the movie was very theatrical and the deformed and weird creatures in the movie didn’t make it believable. But… I must say that I really enjoyed looking at all those eight-packs of the Spartans. Yes, you read it right - those guys didn’t have six-packs, but eight-packs! Yummy!!!

The last movie was Edward Scissor Hands. I know this movie is old and I have seen it many times before, but I still like watching it. Any Tim Burton movie with Johnny Depp in it is worth watching over and over again.
