Secretly I am a bit of a sports freak. I love playing sports and can watch sports on TV for hours. DH always says that’s one of the things he likes about me. I like to watch almost any sport - from swimming to speed skating, from darts to martial arts and so on.

One of the sport events I am always looking forward to is Wimbledon. Wimbledon is THE tennis event of the year. The tournament dates all the way back to 1877 making it the oldest major championship in tennis. Every tennis player is dreaming of putting their names down in the history books and winning this championship that is held at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.

I wish I could fly to England and get Wimbledon debenture tickets, but unfortunately I’ll be watching the balls fly up and down the court from my comfy couch. Not that that is a bad thing, but nothing beats seeing the real thing.  Anyway, you can expect me to be glued to the TV for about two weeks at the end of June and the beginning on July.

I don’t have any particular player I am cheering for, but I always love it when a relatively unknown player or underdog beats the odds and wins. Are you going to watch Wimbledon and if so who are you cheering for?
