Just kidding! I would never ever go on a show like that. But the truth is that DH’s family would make all the people on the Jerry Springer show fade away. So many lies, scandals, abuse, stealing, cheating, death threats, etc. It is more than I can handle anyway.When DH had his big work accident almost 3 years ago I rang his mother to tell her that she wasn’t welcome in the hospital or at our house. I politely asked her to stay away, because even though I am sure that she was genuinely concerned for her son, I told her that we had enough on our plate right now and I didn’t want DH to deal with any extra stress. I wanted him to solely focus on recovering from the accident and his rehabilitation. She was very friendly on the phone and I ALMOST questioned myself as to whether or not I did the right thing.

But then I remembered how she kept DH away from his dad while he was dying, how she had abused the sh*t out of DH when he was only a child, how she tried to sabotage my efforts to get a visa to be with DH, how she had lied to everyone about us not sending her a wedding invitation, how she had cheated on DH’s dad while he lay in hospital with cancer, how she threatened to kill DH, etc. I knew she was just trying to manipulate me on the phone and I was right. As soon as I hang up I was awarded the b*tch of the year award.

It has been one of the best decisions I ever made. DH finally stopped worrying about her instead of non stop thinking about what she would do next. Every now and then his brothers or sister tells us what she is up to, how she tries to make their lives a living hell. And you know what? It just makes me grateful that even though she hates DH and me more than ever for asking her to stay away, she did respect our wish. We don’t have to deal with her anymore and it just makes our lives so much better!
